Microsoft confirms bid of U.S. $ 45 billion for Yahoo and Launches Interactive Advertising ultimatum InWindow

Microsoft announced that it will not increase its offer of 45,000 million dollars for Yahoo and to follow other paths in case of failure to reach an agreement for next weekend.

finance chief Chris Liddell made the announcement when the technology giant reported third quarter profits of $ 4,390 million, representing a decline of 11 percent compared to the same period of 2007.

Microsoft's turnover remained virtually static over the third quarter of fiscal 2007, about 14,500 million dollars.

Microsoft's strong gains in the online market were offset by lower 24 percent in sales of Windows operating system.

The company hopes the situation will improve in the fourth quarter and predicted earnings between U.S. $ 15,500 million and 15,800 million dollars.

Microsoft is in full efforts to buy Yahoo to compete with rival Google, but Liddell said the company will explore other options if no agreement is reached. Yahoo! spokeswoman Diana Wong declined to comment, reported Bloomberg news service specialist.
